Louise lives on the world's largest civilian hospital ship Global Mercy. Together with sisters Nicoline, Michelle, mother Mapendo and father Thomas Dubourcq from Sandvika outside Oslo, they live aboard the floating hospital, which is a mini-community with a school, hairdresser, dentist, post office, shop and café. There are over fifty students at the school and around 500 people from all over the world live on the ship.
In the series, Louise gets to help the captain on the bridge when he sails the ship to Africa for the first time, she visits lion cubs in Senegal, gets to know child patients on the ship and the family travels out to see many exciting things in the country.
Louise and her family have lived on the ship for three years and the series is produced by dad Thomas Dubourcq. Thomas also produced the NRK series Fride på shippet from 2010, which still airs on NRK Super.
